Personal summary

I have volunteered and worked with organizations which successfully help partners achieve their goals in areas such as youth, peace, security, economic development, education, health, environment, justice, mine action and post-conflict rebuilding of infrastructure and livelihoods. I have also obtained many experience while working as Project Assistant and Youth Participation Specialist. My project idea of the multi-ethnic “Kosovo Youth Fest” was awarded by UNMIK and it was the third such successful annual project. As a Project Assistant and Youth Participation Specialist, my primary role was to help designing and coordinating project activities, and contributing to the organization of the events envisaged by the project. While working with the multi-ethnic team of young peace-builders, my role was also engagement and social inclusion of young people from non-majority communities and marginalized areas across Kosovo in order to act as change-makers and increase their awareness of about participatory and inclusive youth mechanisms. In the past five years I have worked as a youth advocate; I organized a series of roundtables on strengthening youth involvement in decision-making processes in multiethnic municipalities and Local Youth Action Councils. Following the recommendations on youth, peace and security adopted by the UN Security Council in 2015, the purpose of my work was to assess the situation in targeted municipalities, identify barriers faced by youth from marginalized and rural areas, and find a way of advancing and empowering youth. I assisted with writing and drafting Youth Action Plans and Youth Strategies in multiethnic municipalities across Kosovo.
