Task description and requirements

For one of our clients we are currently looking for a Computational Designer in Rhino and Grasshopper (m/f/d) on a freelance basis.

Project description:
Our client is working on several computation/parametric design concepts both in apparel and footwear. The aim of this project is the Implementation of parametric design prototypes for both categories.

Tasks:
• Implementation of small prototypes for parametric design of apparel and footwear articles / components in Grasshopper
• CAD (computer aided design) repair and simplification in Rhino:
• Fixing of modeling errors (typically small gaps, intersecting surfaces, wrongly oriented surfaces) to enhance the quality of the CAD geometries and make them useable for simulation.

• CAD simplification in Rhino:
• Removal of small geometric detail that is not relevant for simulation

• Translation of existing footwear CAD models into parametric designs in Grasshopper:
• Remodeling of the provided CAD files using a parametric workflow in Grasshopper to expose grading (~scaling and other fit adjustments) functionality


Requirements:
• Good knowledge in CAD (computer aided design)
• Good knowledge in Grasshopper
• Good knowledge in Rhino
• Nice to have: knowledge in AI (Artificial Intelligence)
• Nice to have: experience in fashion industry


Contract data:
• Location: remote; European time zone
• Start: 03/02/2025
• Contract period: until 31/12/2025
• Volume: 440 hours
