Project Opportunity: Temporary EHS Consultant Support

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire, UK

We are seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) consultant to provide temporary, full-time onsite support at a manufacturing facility in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The site specializes in producing optical components for wearable Augmented Reality (AR) devices and has recently converted warehouse space for new manufacturing equipment installations.

Project Overview

The assignment involves supporting EHS functions, with a particular focus on chemical safety, while managing generalist EHS tasks. The consultant will work directly with the site’s EHS Director, who requires additional support to ensure EHS processes do not hinder operations.

Key Details:

  • Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire, UK
  • Duration: Full-time (8 hours/day, five days/week) from November through December 2024, with potential for extension
  • Availability: Immediate start preferred
  • EHS Focus: Primarily chemical safety, with a generalist skill set
  • Experience Level: Mid-level preferred; senior-level candidates also considered
The consultant will operate under the main contractor's supervision and coordinate with an external project manager based in the U.S., who will need coverage between Christmas/Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Next Steps:

  • We are currently identifying available EHS consultants with the necessary experience and immediate availability. Please provide a CV and confirm availability for November.
  • A proposal will be prepared to include a day rate (8 hours/day) and a half-day rate (4 hours/day) that covers all labour and expenses.
If you meet these qualifications and are available to support this project, we look forward to receiving your application.
