I started work straight from school in 2001, undertaking an apprenticeship in Business Administration at the Lancaster District Chamber of Commerce & Industry. I completed both levels 2 and 3, beginning at Fylde Training who were taken over by Training 2000. I have tried various industries over the years, the bulk of my working career was spent with Bluefin Insurance Services Ltd as an Account Executive specializing in Farming Insurance. After a burnout in 2013-2014, I was made redundant and struggled to find my feet again, attempting a change of industry, with a short return to insurance in 2015 but left feeling the industry was no longer for me. I took a job in the local office of cottages.com, working on the reservations line booking holidays for people. It was a tough role in many ways but also quite enjoyable. It allowed me time to regain some confidence and develop some new skills. I moved to Sally Harrison Estate Agents in September 2019, riding out the pandemic and the crazy world that is the property market. The role I was in brought together lots of the skills I learned over the years, some basic IT support, administration, some sales, and internal support of team members. It was an enjoyable and rewarding role that opened my eyes to just what an Estate Agent does for their clients. I don't know about all agents but the team there works to earn every penny of the commission per property. I was more in the background, where I quite like to be, making sure everyone has the tools they need to do their jobs to the fullest. I now start the next chapter of my life with a move north of the border to Girvan in Scotland.
