Personal summary
My diverse career experience spans across a number of sectors, but primarily within the public and voluntary sector. All my roles have involved client and customer relationships in order to generate new partnerships, leads and eventual income. When working for a large local authority I was responsible for bringing together a number of partners who provided interventions for people living in deprived areas and I was instrumental in securing over £500K worth of funding as part of the Reaching Communities BIG Lottery fund. The foundation of this project was a new and strong partnership base who could deliver effective wrap around interventions for people who were a long way from the labour market. I am creative and critical in my thinking and when working in the Private Sector, I created a continual pipeline of new opportunities and secured over £10million in new business. I have commercial acumen but understand how to apply this across sectors, in order to maximise the opportunities that lay in front of organisations. I understand enterprise and I understand the financial pressures that businesses are facing in the current economic climate. My commercial capability includes end-to-end business development and bid design and creation across all sectors, including the NHS and large local authorities. Having operated for many years in this field, I have worked with a number of procurement frameworks and am familiar with the world of tenders. I am fully conversant in social value and how the Social Value Act 2012 changed public procurement and how this can be evidenced within a competitive tendering process. As a self-employed person (willing to work in an employed status), I have the ability to learn quickly and to work within the parameters of an organisation or when 'covering and caretaking' for a colleague who has taken leave from work. I enjoy becoming familiar with different organisational objectives, and in gaining knowledge about purposeful work that change people’s lives. I am currently working for a charity (fixed term contract), that spans across Hampshire, to support them in building the right strategy that will help them to sustain their future. This includes extensive partnership working, business development, capacity building, capability development and securing new and sustainable income streams. My operational delivery skills are useful as I understand how new business and initiatives can be mobilised and transferred into steady business as usual. I know how to make sure that an organisation does not ‘over promise’ but I build relationships with partners to scope what is possible, effective and will have the most impact.
