Personal summary
I have seven years of experience in professional proofreading and copyediting, and hold a qualification from the Publishing Training Centre, the most widely recognised industry standard. My proofreading and editing is consistently carried out to an exemplary standard, with utmost attention to detail. I provide clear, constructive, and detailed written feedback for every project, as well as insightful suggestions to improve clarity and readability, all while preserving the author’s individual voice. About three years ago I made the decision to become a self-employed freelance proofreader and editor, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Since then I’ve had the joy of working for clients all over the world, across a huge array of genres – most notably a dystopian novel, an Arabic grammar guide, and a book about mathematics and algorithms – all of which have contributed to my professional growth. I have over 100 wonderful testimonials from happy clients, who frequently attest to my excellent time management skills, friendly nature, responsiveness and (most proudly!) my ability to pinpoint the specific issue with a sentence, page or text immediately, whether structural, vocabulary-related or tonal, and to suggest solutions that amplify the author’s intended message in a clear, concise way. I'm really fascinated by all aspects of language and communication, and love expanding my knowledge in this field. In the last year I have obtained a professional proofreading qualification, and I am now pursuing a course in neurolinguistics.
